It has been a while....

I have been a bad blogger. It has been a while since my last post. We had the round of illnesses here....colds, ear infections, and fifth disease. I am crossing my fingers that we are done and that Spring is here to stay!

Here are a few layouts that I have done in the past couple of weeks. I participated in an online crop over at A pile of scrap and these are from the challenges that they had.

1. Based on this sketch

2. Based on this sketch

3. Scraplifted from here

4. Scraplifted from here

Also a couple of weeks ago at a crop I was able to get this double page layout done.

Circle Crop this weekend

Over at the Pile of Scrap Forums this weekend is the circle crop. They have one a month on the last weekend of the month. I was lucky enough to have won last months circle crop so I get to host it this month. I had to come up with 5 challenges that could be used. You can choose to do them all in one layout or several layouts. If you have a chance go over and check it out. What a great fun forum this is for scrapbookers.

Hopefully by the end of the weekend I will have several new layouts to post on my blog along with a few cards.

My first memory of "Scrapbooking"

A friend of mine is giving away some blog candy and to enter into the draw she wanted to know about your first time scrapbooking. Here is her blog

The first ever time I attempted scrapbooking was back in 1998 after coming home from a holiday to Walt Disney World. It was a very basic scrapbook that included my photos and printed pictures of the characters from the internet. I put everything in a photo album and still have it to this day. Eventually I plan on taking those photos and re-doing the scrapbook but for now I like looking at my "first" ever experience in the wonderful world of Scrapbooking!

It wasn't until 6 years later that I started paper scrapbooking when I had my first born. Since then I have been hooked and loving every minute of it!

Bookmarks are fun!

My daughters birthday party was this past Saturday and I wanted the kids to have something in their goody bags that was a bit more unique. I got the idea from a make and take that was posted at A pile of scrap forums. I decided to put their names on them as 5 year olds love to get stuff with their name on it. I had fun making them and I plan on making a bunch of different ones for my kids so they can have a few to choose from.

Valentines Treats

Well I am a bit behind on this post. I have been sick all weekend and spent a good time of it sleeping. But I had to come on and post pictures of the treats I made for my daughters class. They had a Valentines party on Friday and I thought it would be cute if I made a little something to hold their M&M's in. I found the instructions here (btw I love this blog for ideas and tuturials). My daughter was able to help me make them (she turned the handle on the cuttlebug) and she had so much fun doing it.

My baby girl turned 5 today!

I still find it hard to believe that I have a 5 year old. It feels like just yesterday that we were heading off to the hospital. We started the day out by singing to her and then we had to head off to school. She goes 1/2 days (Junior kindergarten) and they sang to her there as well. I sent along some mini cupcakes for her class to enjoy and boy did they ever. She had lots of phone calls all day to wish her a happy birthday (quite the popular girl was she!)

For dinner she just had to have chicken nuggets and french fries from McDonalds (her absolute favourite meal). We brought it home to eat and then once a few family members arrived we got out the ice-cream cake and sang to her again. She got to open her gifts from us and recieved several cards with money to go shopping. (a favourite thing to do for her - yes she already loves to shop). She is definately going to be one stylish girl come this Spring and Summer! After lots of fun with Grandpa it was time for bed. But not before Daddy sang Happy Birthday to her one more time.
Here are a few pictures from her celebration tonight.
