July Crop circle!

This month I have the privilege to host the crop circle over at APOS. I hope the girls like what I have come up with. I had fun doing my layout. I found the sketch over on the 52 sketches...52 weeks site.

So here are my challenges

1. Use your scraps (any patterned paper you use should be your scraps)
2. Have at least 3 circles in your layout
3. Use photo corners (of any kind) be creative if you don't have photo corners use something like buttons
4. One word title
5. Use journaling strips or a journaling block

And here is my layout

July Design Team Reveal - APOS

Well it's time for the July reveal! This month I was able to play with the beautiful Wisteria line from Basic Grey. I was also given the Crafters workshop peony template, stickles, riff raff (which I now love!) and some bling! At first I was stuck on what I was going to do with the paper but once the ideas started coming they kept on flowing.

Don't forget to hop on over to the other DT members blogs to see what they did for this months reveal. Valerie, Cheryl and Candace also had the Wisteria line to work with. Jerusha, Cori-lyn, and Vicki were given the Early bird line by Cosmo Cricket.

So without further ado here are my layouts, 1 project and cards.
First the 3 cards I made with the scraps I had left over. I used my cuttlebug to add some texture.

Here is a mini lunch tin that I had laying around. I have decided to use it as my mojo tin. I am going to fill it with pieces of paper that have ideas written on them to get my creative juices flowing when I am running low on them.
For this layout I used my cricut to cut the flowers, added the Basic Grey bling that came in my kit and used my cricut to cut the title.
For this layout I used the crafters workshop template and chalk to add to my cardstock background. The flourish is made with stickles.
For this layout I cut out the flower from one of the papers and stickled the edge. I adheared it with pop dots. I also used Riff raff for the title and added glossy accents to it.
For my last layout I used the gorgeous dragonfly paper. I cut out 2 of the dragon flies and then attached the second with pop dots and bent the wings a bit to make it 3D

APOS Challenges

I was finally able to sit down and do a few of the challenges from the design team over at APOS. There are still several I want to get done and hope to do some of them this coming weekend. I am absolutely amazed by the talent over there and each week I can't wait for Thursday to come to find out what the challenges are.
The first challenge I did was Candace's . Very different for me. I don't have a lot of stamps and rarely use them. I loved this challenge and can't wait to go buy more stamps. Check out the other layouts and cards that the ladies did. They are fantastic!

The second challenge I completed was Cheryl's. This one was very different for me. I rarely do stitching and never on a card. I loved how this turned out!

Well that is all for now. Happy Scrapping!

The month of July has been good to us!

My husband had lost in job back in June and has been home with us since. I love that he is here to help me with the kids and get things done around the house but I was really hoping he would be back to work soon. Well after a week of interviews (last week) and lots of waiting, stressing and lack of sleep we got the call yesterday for a job offer. Not only was he offered a great job but he was actually offered 3 jobs in the past 2 days. We feel he has picked the right job for him that will make him happy and he will thrive at.

I am so super proud of him! He didn't give up in looking for a job. The market here in our city is non-existent right now for his skills. We decided to look outside of the city by up to one hour. It paid off and now he has an amazing job working for a wonderful company.

I have been scrapping a bit the past couple of days and tomorrow I will show what I have been doing. Don't forget to go on over to APOS to check out the challenges from last week. (hint my layouts will be based on the challenges)

Are you up for a scrappy challenge?

Then head over to A PILE OF SCRAP!! Today was the first day that the design team put out challenges for all the ladies over there. There were 3 challenges - inspiration, colour and product. My challenge was the inspiration one. I had a hard time deciding what I would do but after talking with the talented Icecheeks it all came together! So without further ado here is my challenge and my layout

Look around your house and find an item/object that inspires you to create a layout. The inspiration could come from the colours, design or perhaps the item itself has some meaning and inspiration to it for you. Take a picture of this object to show us where you got your inspiration from and tell us why it inspired you. Your picture does not need to be included in your layout unless the layout is about that item.

And here are the other 2 wonderful and inspiring challenges. The product challenge by Candace and the colour challenge by Vicki. So hurry on over to the APOS forums and if you haven't introduced yourself please do so and then start showing us your beautiful layouts!
